Laughter is the best medicine

Corinne is officially on the go...and she laughs.

I hope this made your day. It makes mine.

Spring Will Be Here Soon

I smile every time I see the bunch of sunflowers in the family room. They hold the promise of warm sunny days, and the world around us coming back to life with Spring. We can not wait. I am excited for Corinne to swing for the first time outside. She has a bathing suit ready for water class and I just got her a silly bikini (and cover up, don't worry) for the beach.

Corinne still has a runny nose. She seems to be feeling pretty well. She is getting back on track going down for naps. It has made a world of difference in our house. Kevin was home today to visit the dentist. Now, I know this is not a fun reason to be home, but it was so wonderful to have an extra day together. We got a lot done, everyone even took a nap. It was great. I went out for fondue with the ladies and Corinne and Kevin had a lovely night at home.

Tomorrow Grannie comes home from her Denver visit. Corinne and I are going with she and Grandpa to visit Golden Retriever pups and to select the puppy they will call their own. We are looking forward to it. Maybe there will pictures of the little one with the little pups in the future.

Four Years?

Then

Now

I meet Kevin four years ago today. It seems like it was yesterday, and like we have been together for ever.

Another Cousin!!

Congratulations Tiffany and Tommy! Corinne may be the luckiest girl in the world. She now has two cousins within eight months of her age. Samuel Thomas Moore was born @ 11:41 am on 2/16/09. 2/16/09 is also Grandpa Sniderman's 60th birthday (Tiffany gives the best birthday presents). Sam weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs 4 oz. Baby, Mom, and Dad are all doing well.

I couldn't resist one sweet naked baby shoot with the happy little one. She adores being diaper free. She may hate me for them one day, but they are so cute. She is on the go now. I wouldn't quite call it crawling, but we have lunging, scooting, and she is able to sit up on her own.

Corinne is a wonderful communicator. Typically, at nap or bed time we wrap her up, give her a pacifier, tell her we love her, and leave her to sleep when she is tired. Last week she was crying and couldn't be comforted when we would lay her down. She had no snot, teeth bumps, or fever, but something was just not right with her and she was letting us know. She has her first ear infection. She is still a pleasure most of the time, when she gets tired she fights it like crazy because it still hurts when she lays down. She seems to be improving, but it still hurts for now.

I recently noticed that I have been neglecting two-thirds of the name of this blog. So, I thought I would throw a picture of the boys here for your enjoyment. Rufus and Simba are both fabulous. They do object to anyone walking on their sidewalk, ever. Simba adores Corinne and has since the day sehe came home. It took Rufus months to stop running away from her. I would say he has come to terms with her at this point.

Yucks

Corinne and I have both have colds and are fussy (Yes, I have been watching her fuss and learned her technique). Kevin is off to Chicago for work. Well, soon he might be off. It took over 3 hours for him to get to the airport in the snow. So, his plane left without him and he is sitting in the airport on standby now. Did I mention the snow? We have about 2 inches so far and it is still snowing heavily. We are going to ignore the snow and hope it goes away until Kevin comes home. That is my official stance. Mainly because I don't know that I will change out of jammies today. Yesterday I tried to pretend I felt okay....I worked out, showered, got dressed, ran errands, went grocery shopping, and then fell asleep before 10 PM (I usually go to bed around midnight or 1). Today I feel worse. So, I think I am just going to sink down into it and feel the yucks today. Maybe if we experience it fully and lazily it will run its course and go away!

New Cousin!

We are now Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Kevin. Kristin and Jeff had Jessica Jean Campbell at 7:43 Saturday morning. She weighed in at 8 pounds 15.5 ounces and 21.5 inches. She is gorgeous. Here is a picture of the happy family.
Corinne is still ready to crawl at any moment. She wants it so bad she can taste it, but she can't do it yet. She seems to be getting more fun all the time still. We love it. I think I will post another video soon. We have new noises and expressions every day. Megan joined us for dinner tonight. Corinne showed off her eating, laughing, jumping, and rolling skills.Corinne and I watched the inauguration today. Our new president holds her attention and keeps her smiling. I hope she is not disappointed. Her jaded father has taken to referring to him as "Dear Leader". Expectations are high, I hope he can really have impact.
Kevin brought me just because flowers on Sunday with breakfast and my newspaper. It was very nice. I am enjoying the flowers and thought you might too.
As always, there are more pictures on our picture page: http://gallery.me.com/nichollss/100381

An Experiment in Sledding

I have never seen her care less. She was not upset, she was not happy. She just didn't care.

First Haircut and More

The world is spinning at a normal rate again after all the craziness of the holidays. Last weekend, we had the pleasure of celebrating Granny's birthday with her.

Corinne and I had 3 sets of plans canceled on us this week because everyone seems to be getting sick. Please, continue to cancel if needed, we do not want to get sick.

Well, Kevin and I have been going back and forth for months. We finally decided it is time to trim the mullet off of Corinne.

Before

After
Nothing dramatic, I only trimmed the back. She now has a lovely pony tail in her baby book.

We also went for her 6 month checkup this week. She continues to grow. I know, you are all shocked. She is still 90th percentile for height, she measures 27.125 inches, and 50th for weight, coming in at 15 pounds and 5.5 ounces. We really like her pediatrician and had a good time at her appointment. I think our list of questions was longer than usual now that she eats food.

Speaking of food....she seems to be getting the hang of it quickly and really enjoys it. She is still working on processing these new things entering her body. I must say, she has made significant progress. I actually called Kevin into the nursery this morning to see how solid the content of her diaper was. It blew our minds and we are very proud. :)

Welcome to 2009

Happy New Year!

We stayed home, played Rock Band, and had a delicious meal with a few drinks to ring in the new year. We thought Dick Clark seemed a little better this year than last, but we still think it is time he stop the New Year's Eve special.

I am disappointed in my Spartans. They finally made it to a bowl. I guess that alone is something. It was just such a terrible game.

We have been trying different food for about a month now. To date Corinne has had rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes, prunes, and barley cereal. She LOVES sweet potatoes. She did not think much of bananas.

It is time for us to take down and pack up all our holiday stuff. Corinne got so many presents for the holidays. She has some toys and clothes to grow into and some for now. She is currently completely mesmerized by her Yookidoo. She is excited she will have cousins soon. Kevin just figured out last night he was going to be an uncle. It was very cute.

Alright, Corinne is fighting her nap. I must go help the nap win.
