To Denver and Back

Corinne and I went to Denver for the weekend to see her Aunt Tiffany, Uncle Tommy, and Ms. Amy. It was a last minute decision based to go, and we were pretty nervous. Corinne was and angel on the plane both ways. People seated around us congratulated her on being an excellent traveler. People at baggage claim didn't even know there was a baby on the flight on the way out.

We had loads of fun in Denver. We went to a pumpkin patch, did a corn maze, went to the butterfly pavilion, and got to spend time with the people we love there. Tiffany is due on Valentine's Day. It was fun to see her baby belly and talk to Corinne's cousin. Corinne was happy most of the trip, she slept through the night as usual and added LONG naps to her day.

We are now home safe and sound. Corinne was delighted to see her dad (as was I). She is tired today but seems happy to see her jumperoo as well.

The Big Game

It is 10:30 pm and strangely the rest of the members of my household are asleep. Corinne is back in the swing of a regular sleeping schedule. We have a two hour nap every day (other little naps too) and sleep through most of the night. Her neck is strong and she is ready to climb whoever is holding her. She is a total ham and loves being admired by strangers. She has such a huge little smile, love it!

She has now visited Daddy, Grandma Nicholls, and Grandpa Sniderman at work. Grannie Sniderman retired this year. So, I suppose anywhere we see Grannie Sniderman is her work. We have not figured out a scenario where it is appropriate to visit Grandpa Nicholls at work. Babies just shouldn't visit funeral homes. "Who is that cute baby?" is not something that should be heard at a visitation.

We have all sorts of fun coming up this weekend. We have a houseguest that we are very much looking forward to and the "big game". I think this may be the year of the Spartans, but I am not holding my breath. I have yet to get Corinne a great MSU outfit. I still may do it before Saturday.

Take Two

Well, I returned to work for my second Friday yesterday. Kevin decided he needed some help to deal with Corinne until she gets used to me leaving once a week. So, he, his mom, and his dad spent the day with our beautiful little girl. Again, when I left everything seemed promising... By the time I returned home they were all exhausted. She did eat while I was gone, that is a huge step. She even took two little nap. However, she also WAILED for multiple hours. I had no idea what to say to try to make them all feel better. All three of them tried everything they could think of to comfort her, to no avail. She is "too young" for separation issues like this. However, it does just seem that she is upset I am not with her. Corinne was excited to see me and remained in a good mood until she slept through the night. I was able to get back to counseling at work. It was nice to get back to work for a few hours.

Today Kevin and I took Corinne to Kensington. We saw lots of critters and other babies while we strolled in the sunshine. The whole family had a good time. It was nice to go do something together. It has been hard to get everything done we want to squeeze into the weekend and find time to go out and do things together. We are trying to think of fun family outings for the Winter...any ideas?

Growth Spurt

Well, I am happy to report Corinne is still the most beautiful baby I have ever seen (yes, I am completely bias).

On the other hand, she is in a growth spurt, has abandoned the little schedule we had, and is back to screaming if I put her down. So, we are tired. We are trying to get on a schedule by Friday for me to be able to try working again. At this point, it doesn't look promising.

She did have an exciting mall outing with Grandma Nicholls, a play date and a lovely Rosh Hashanah dinner at her Great Uncle Steve and Great and Aunt Laura's house this week. She still loves her walks and seems to be enjoying being outside even more in the fall.

Fall fell upon us

Well, having had Corinne at the end of June I am just now starting to learn how to dress a baby for the cooler weather. She seems to enjoy the cool weather. Today we went to the cider mill with Grannie Sniderman. We saw goats, a goat playground, and a very pretty rooster.

Corinne has been exceptionally fussy since last Friday. It suddenly struck me it might be growth spurt time again. Surprise!! There is typically a three month growth spurt. She is sleeping and eating like crazy, plus a wee bit cranky. Now it all makes sense.

I know many people think I should not put my little girl in blue. However, I think she looks adorable in her little blue outfit covered in Rufis (plural for Rufus). Rufus thinks she looks good in this outfit also.
